Helpful

My grandma always says I'm super helpful. I like to be by her side all day and doing whatever she's doing. But today she seems a little off. She seems tired or something. She got up late and doesn't seem to be feeling too well. So I'm trying to stay extra close. I've followed her in and out of the study, but I'm bored today. I can't seem to settle down. So I went back in the living room, then back in the study, then back in the kitchen. I know she likes to keep the door closed in the study, but she gets up each time to let me in and out. I sat in her lap, in my chair, on her desk, in her lap, under her blanket, on her shoulder, at her feet, and lots more places. Every time I want to try something new she has to get up to help me, open the door, etc. I even cried so she'd know to go let my brother in and out. She didn't seem to like me trying to jump from her head to the top of her desk though. She grumbled at me for knocking things over too, but she seems to like it because she always picks them up.

I really tried to give grandma a break today. I'd wait 5-10 minutes between each thing I needed, like opening the door or sitting in a new spot. That way she could get back to what she was doing before I asked for her help again. But grandma seemed pretty unhappy. She finally just sat down at her desk and cried. I tried to show her some support, but I guess it was too much because her computer thingy just fell right off the desk. I guess next time I'll try to help more.

Today we started a blog

Hi! I'm Opal! I'm the cutest kitten you'll even meet and I have the best, sweetest, most loving mom ever. But since she has to go to school all day, I have to stay home with my grandma. Every day after school grandma tells my mom about what me and my brother were up to while she was gone. So today, we decided to start a blog to keep track of all the fun we have to show my Mom! Welcome to Catito Capers!

Twins

My brother Rune and I love to nap together. I like to pretend we're twins and sleep the exact same way! Rune thinks I'm annoying sometimes, so he turns around, but look, I can copy cat!

Look what my brother did today! I'm so proud of him. Here's what grandma told my mom: So today Rune was helping me outside. We took the trash out, pulled some weeds, and then settled on the back porch to fold up the tarps we used to cover the plants during the cold. While I folded, he sunbathed, enjoying the balmy 45 degree weather. As I tried to clean up, he rolled around in the dirt on the patio ensuring that it deeply engrained into his coat. At one point I laughed that the black cat had become a reddish brown one. When I tried to give him a pet, so much dirt flew from his fur that I ended up in a coughing fit. Annoyed, I finished my work and headed inside intending to leave the dirty cat on the patio where he could shake it off a bit. However, he darted inside and disappeared. I later walked into my bedroom to discover his hiding spot.

Today, we nap

I usually lead a busy life getting in to all sorts of trouble, exploring, playing, and running around, but sometimes, I need a rest. Today I curled up in grandma's lap and just enjoyed a snuggle.

Up Close and Personal

Today Opal was doing some housework riding around on my shoulder. She took a moment to remind me that sometimes, those we love just want to be close to us, even if that means they get in our way a little bit or their butt gets a bit too close to our face. They mean no offense, they just enjoy the connection and feel safe being their authentic selves with us.

Lazy Sunday

I was not home today. I went to my daughter's gymnastics meet. It was freezing cold outside and snowed on our way home. Good news! Someone kept the bed warm for me!
